Kuala Lumpur offers big city vibes, but is also home to the world’s smallest rainforest. It is a very diverse city with a lot to explore. The people are kind and the food is second to none. It is a modest city overall, so avoid PDA and revealing clothing.

GETTING AROUND

Walking: Kuala Lumpur is a pretty big city, but the downtown area is easy and safe to walk around. The KLCC is the main area to explore. Lots of businesses, malls, and parks.

Grab: This is the Uber of Malaysia. Just download the app and order it to wherever you want to go!

LRT/MRT/Monorail: This is a great way to avoid the traffic. It will take you to most tourist attractions and is pretty easy to use. Closes around 11pm.

Bus: The GOKL Citybus is a free service that will get you all around the city. Also a great option for transportation.

WHERE TO STAY

Bukit Bintang is a great spot to stay for restaurants, entertainment, and nightlife. I would also recommend the KLCC City Center, right next to Bukit Bintang, but the center of everything. These areas are generally very safe and well lit.
